Jesolo, the important seaside resort of the Venetian coast will welcome, between the 18th and the 22nd of September 2009, about 500 students and teachers from 16 European countries, winners of the fifth edition of FOOD 4U, the awareness campaign, about the importance of a healthy and correct diet, promoted by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies.
“It will be an opportunity for all these European youngsters – the Italian Agriculture Minister, Luca Zaia, stated - to stay get together their colleagues and, through the spots they made on food awareness, to experience the advertising language so they can better understand and decode the media messages.”
The 500 European youngsters stay will be very special: they will get to know and visit not only the white and wide beaches of Jesolo, but also the beautiful city of Venice, one of the Italian gems, and Treviso, whose province, known as the Marca Gioiosa, is very important for its traditional productions. Moreover, the youngsters will attend some cultural activities and educational tours, discovering the Italian wine and food culture.
This event will be set in a wonderful frame - Zaia added- such as Veneto, a land with tourist and landscape amenities and with a rich gastronomic heritage, formed by the mixture of fishermens’ cuisine and the farmers’ one.
In Jesolo, Treviso and Venice, the previews of the Video Festival FOOD 4U spots will be showed. The Award Ceremony will be held in Rome at Auditorium della Conciliazione on Wednesday, the 23rd of September, when Luca Zaia, the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, will nominate the best spot of the FOOD 4U Award 2009.
FOOD 4U, also in this edition, has invited more than 6 million students and more than 30.000 secondary schools from 16 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, The Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden and Hungary.
“I am sure - Zaia concluded– that the best key to make the youngsters aware of the importance of a proper diet is a message coming from their peers. The messages created by these young Europeans are a starting point for the institutions and the massmedia to create a valuable and continued initiative to make the young citizens and their families aware about the benefits of a healthy and correct diet”.
